Those who choose the accountability loop do so through a sequence of recognition, ownership, forgiveness (of themselves and of others), learning and taking action; those who choose the victim loop proceed through a sequence of ignorance, denial, blame of others, resistance and resentment. The book is not preachy but enthusiastic and positive and succeeds in conveying the values of individual responsibility.
