Shipping

Posts must inform eShop during checkout their preferred shipping method, whether Diplomatic Pouch or Despatch Agent (USDA). Fiscal data for overseas shipping costs must be included in the order for commercial items. Shipping is estimated at 20% with the exception of GPS publications where actual costs may apply.

ARS Paris shipping costs are included in the item costs, therefore, shipping costs will not be calculated for any of the items in these collections: Nouveaux Horizons & Books in French

The cost of shipping can vary greatly depending on the size and weight of the order. However, prices quoted in the American Spaces eShop other than GPS and ARS items, include the cost of shippin to a U.S. Government address.

Important: Orders should include any special shipping instructions such as seperating quantities or titles for onward shipment by post to different American Spaces and/or destinations.

Posts should consult with their GSO on the "preferred shipping method." Posts should consider the following information when determining the best shipping option:

  • Diplomatic Pouch or APO/FPO: It is possible that book shipments may be considered as bulk supplies and therefore ineligible for shipment. If Pouch or APO authorities determines a bulk shipment constitute misuse of the system, the shipment may be delayed and post held liable for costs. In the case of pouch, these costs may be about USD $2 per pound. If post nevertheless prefers to ship via pouch or APO, it should advise ECA Vienna Satellite Office at the time it places its order.
  • Alternative Shipping Methods: If post elects to use an althernative shipping method such as U.S. despatch agent, it should consult with its GSO to determine the most cost-effective option considering post-specific conditions and arrangements. Post should provide a fund cite based on its estimated shipping costs and detailed shipping instructions at the time it places its order. If reliable estimates are not available, posts may consider using a rough formula of allocating 20-25% of the total cost of the order for shipping.
  • Partial Shipments: You will get items in multiple shipments: Depending on availability and size your order will most like by sent in partial shipments.
  • Shipping an order(s) that may use multiple vendors can take up to three months. This is due to the size of the order(s) and the availability of on stock items. Delivery is also dependant on the "preferred shipping method."
  • Shipping Funds: If feasible, post may consider using post-held program funds rather than specially earmarked American Corners funding for shipping so that the unused portion can be managed effectively.
